Henna party

Henna party is one of the Persian ceremonies which originally should be held one night before the wedding. This night families of the bride and groom gather together and meet each other. It is sort of rehearsal in order for people to meet each other and be comfortable around each other 🙂

Another purpose is also to divide the responsibilities and all together get ready for the wedding. This night people celebrate with some snacks and music. Usually bride wears a red or green dress and have solid or pattern-like henna in shape of flowers on hands or feet. Based on tradition, one person of the groom’s family draws with henna on the bride and vice versa.
